Draw a card from the deck online
Draw a random card from a standard 52-card deck with one tap. The deck is shuffled with cryptographic randomness; each draw removes one card from the deck and the same card never comes up twice. Your drawn cards stack up below so you can see which cards have appeared so far.
Where can you use it?
Useful whenever you need a random card: as a stand-in deck for card games, for a “highest card drawn wins” decision, in classroom and party games, or in a magic or guessing trick. Handy even when you don’t have a real deck.
A short history of playing cards
Playing cards originated in 9th-century Tang-dynasty China, then travelled through India and Persia to Mamluk Egypt, arriving in Italy and Spain in the 14th century. The modern 52-card French deck (spades, hearts, diamonds, clubs) was standardised in France in the late 15th century. Cards have been used not just for games but also for divination (tarot), mathematics, psychology experiments and random selection. Drawing a card to decide something is a shared language across blackjack, poker, magic tricks and children’s games.
Frequently asked questions
Can the same card come up twice?
No. Once one of the 52 cards is drawn it won’t come up again; each draw shrinks the deck by one. When the deck runs out, or any time you like, you can reshuffle with “Reset”.
Is the deck really shuffled at random?
Yes. The deck is shuffled with your browser’s cryptographic random number generator; no card’s position is known in advance.
How do I clear the drawn cards?
Tap the “Reset” link at the top right of the drawn-cards box; the deck reshuffles and the list of drawn cards clears.
Does it work on mobile?
Yes. It works on phones, tablets and computers; draw by tapping the card or using the button.
Can the same card come up twice?
In standard mode, yes — each draw is independent from a full deck. In "draw from deck" mode, drawn cards don’t come back; no card repeats until the deck is empty.
Can I include jokers?
The standard 52-card deck is used by default. Toggle "include jokers" to add 1 or 2 jokers, making a 53 or 54-card deck.
What can I use this for?
Card games where a random pick is needed, magic tricks, children’s games, deciding turn order, or "who goes first" style decisions. Also useful for tarot-style personal readings.
Are the names and data I enter stored?
No. Everything runs only in your browser; the names and lists you enter are never sent to a server, stored or shared with anyone. When you close the page, this data is gone.
Does it take up storage on my device?
No, it takes up no storage at all. Online Kura is not a downloaded app; it runs entirely in your browser and nothing is installed on your phone or computer. If you like, you can add it to your home screen and use it like an app — with none of the storage.
How do I add Online Kura to my phone’s home screen?
iPhone (Safari): open the page, tap the Share icon and choose “Add to Home Screen”. Android (Chrome): open the three-dot menu at the top right and tap “Add to Home screen” (or “Install app”). Then you can open Online Kura like an app with one tap.
